We prepare individuals to overcome the physical and mental challenges experienced during outdoor adventures.
Adventure (ad-ven-cher) noun.
Whether you’re climbing mountains, biking down them, or hunting big game in them; trekking across glaciers; kayaking through rapids; backpacking days away from civilization; or participating in any other adventure that most of society considers crazy, you need more than just skill in order to safely and successfully overcome the obstacles in your path.
You also need endurance that won’t quit and a level of strength belied by your size.
Outdoor adventure athletes and coaches often consider strength development an unnecessary luxury for backcountry activities.
But all else being equal—such as skill, endurance, and body mass—a stronger individual is more likely to succeed in any physical endeavor. In fact, all else being unequal, a stronger individual may still come out on top because of the reduced energy expenditure needed to carry heavy loads and to move quickly and efficiently through space.
That’s why our training programs are designed to improve relative strength—that is, strength gains with minimal-to-no increase in body mass—as well as endurance.
Backcountry adventures are among the most amazing experiences that we can encounter in our lives.
Don’t just survive on your next adventure. Thrive by becoming the fittest version of yourself so you can squeeze the experience for every last thrill it has to offer.
